Kondomknappheit in Kenia
Jahrzehntelang haben wir in Europa getrommelt und gerufen: Schickt Kondome nach Afrika, bringt den Afrikanern die Benutzung von Kondomen bei, verhindert so die weitere Ausbreitung von AIDS. Und nun? Jetzt, wo man gerade dabei ist, in breiteren Bevölkerungsschichten den Nutzen von Kondomen zu akzeptieren, ausgerechnet jetzt werden die Gummis dort Mangelware:
Faced with increased consumption of condoms in Kenya, about 20 million per month according to the director of public health, Shahnaaz Sharif, the country had no alternative but to appeal to an international aid plan for meet demand.
